What can I teach? Generally, teachers are allowed to teach anything they are passionate about. We want you, the teacher, to be passionate about whatever you choose to teach. You can host workshops, give academic lectures, teach unique skills, or run an activity of your choice. We also want to note that you are not limited to your field or major! If you’re a mechanical engineer but have been passionate about performing arts your whole life, then go ahead and teach that dance class! There is a lot of flexibility in being a teacher. Course examples: What can’t I teach? While we want teachers to have fun in creating their lesson plan, we aim to create a safe place where kids can feel inspired and excited about learning. As such, there are some limitations to what you can teach. We do not allow classes that: Include activities that pose any sort of physical or mental danger to students Are illegal or explicitly promote illegal activities (e.g. How to Deal Drugs 101) Promote only a single viewpoint on a topic (e.g. a pro/anti-abortion class) Exist to advertise an outside organization, service, or product Gather data for outside research purposes of any kind Promote religious hate or disrespect a person’s religious beliefs Discriminate against students of a certain gender, race, or religion
